Canadian Breeder of Standard Schnauzers since 1990

Dinsdale pups are born and raised in our home, we average one to two litters every 12-18 months.  We have been breeding Standard Schnauzers for more than 20 years, originally we concentrated on the Pepper & Salt variety.  Back in 2005 I imported a Black Standard Schnauzer and this started my interest in the Black variety.  The last few years I have owned and breed both colours, but, I have started to concentrate a little more on the Blacks.  My heart will always love the Pepper & Salts and I plan to continue with them, though on a much smaller scale, perhaps breeding only every couple of years.

All Dinsdale pups are given a thorough health exam by our Veterinarian.  A record of this examination is given to all new owners and will include info on first shots and worming and parasite control to date.  Our pups are ready to leave us at approximately 8 weeks of age.   I am no longer cropping the ears of our pups, nor, docking the tails...Times have changed and docking and cropping is banned in most provinces now, although it is still allowed in Ontario I feel it will not be long before that is the norm in Ontario as well.  Instead of remaining in the past we have decided to move forward and no pups will be docked or cropped at Dinsdale.

Our pups are sold as companion animals on a Non-Breeding contract, if you are considering showing in Conformation we can discuss this and what our requirements are.  Many Dinsdale Standard Schnauzers participate in Agility, Rally and Obedience and our owners have great success with them.  If this is of interest to you please let us know as it will have an impact on the choice of pup within a litter.

Presently, flying a puppy to a home in Canada is very easy to do, we have flown pups for more than 20  years and have NEVER had any problems.  Ideally, it is wonderful to have our new owners come to us and pick up their new pup, but, with a breed that isn't always easy to locate, flying a pup can be necessary.  Pups are flown at 8 weeks, out of Toronto Pearson Airport, we prefer West Jet airlines, the new owner is responsible for the purchasing of a sturdy flight crate and the cost of transport.
